Detecting leaking and incorrectly filled aerosol cans in-line

What does the future hold for the production and filling of aerosol cans? That is what the Global Aerosol Events of the Fédération Européenne des Aérosols (FEA) in Düsseldorf at the beginning of October is all about.
The focus is clearly on more detection accuracy with higher efficiency and productivity as far as in-line quality inspection is concerned – due to a new HEUFT solution which has what it takes to make water baths for leakage checks just as superfluous as check weighers for filling quantity checks: the HEUFT SPECTRUM II ATEX linear inspection system identifies leaking as well as incorrectly filled aerosol cans reliably and rejects them accurately.
Risk-free in-line inspection in the Ex area
The compact, easy to integrate linear machine detects even the smallest quantities of escaping propellants such as butane or propane using non-contact laser technology – and thus tiny leaks in the aerosol container. An X-ray measuring bridge is used for checking the fill level of aerosol cans precisely.
All this functions safely in potentially explosive filling areas due to a strict separation between the control unit and the inspection modules: whereas the former is outside the hazard zone the latter can be used without hesitation in ATEX Group II / Category 3 risk areas.
