Detecting leaks and finding faulty filling

HEUFT will be presenting the advantages of a non-contact leakage and fill level detection for aerosol cans at the BAMA Innovation Day 2019 in Leeds at the beginning of April.

The name speaks for itself: everything revolves around new developments which make the manufacturing and filling process of aerosol cans safer and more productive at the Innovation Day 2019 of the British Aerosol Manufacturers' Association (BAMA) – in other words true innovations such as the HEUFT SPECTRUM II ATEX!

After all the linear system for checking the fill level and tightness of aerosol cans in the Ex area has what it takes to eliminate the need for weighing systems and water baths which slow down productivity: it identifies tiny leaks just as reliably as the smallest deviations in the filling quantity during the non-contact in-line inspection of up to 1,000 aerosol containers per minute. Leaks from which propellants escape are detected using special laser technology. An X-ray measuring bridge checks the fill height of the product in the aerosol can.

Risk-free use in the Ex area

The strict separation between the detection on the one hand and the control system on the other ensures the safe operation of the HEUFT SPECTRUM II ATEX in potentially explosive areas: the inspection modules have been designed especially for safe use in ATEX Group II / Category 3 risk areas – the control unit is placed outside the hazard zone.

Further detections can be integrated as with all the systems based on the highly automated HEUFT SPECTRUM II platform: closure faults such as missing spray heads and protective covers or marking problems such as barcodes and data matrix codes which are unreadable or inaccurate as regards content are then detected reliably in addition to a leakage and fill level detection.

True innovation

Non-contact laser technology instead of a water bath, an X-ray fill level detection instead of scales plus optional optical technologies. The HEUFT SPECTRUM II ATEX is truly innovative making it perfect for the conference where it will be presented to the specialist audience:
